The Development Assistant directly supports the Executive Director and Deputy Director, and provides administrative and general office assistance to the Girlstart Development team. Will perform administrative activities including donor tracking and management; coordinating and maintaining communications calendar; drafting and producing correspondence and reports; assisting with the Game Changers Annual Event; and organizing meetings, development events, and info booths. Responsibilities also include becoming proficient with donor software (Salesforce) to maintain, manage, and report on donor data; creating new and modifying existing reports; coordinating stewardship by gathering pertinent information and drafting stewardship letters and reports; and running errands as needed. This key team member will also manage development interns and attend development and program events as needed.
Required Qualifications: a minimum of two years of relevant experience; proficiency with MS Office, especially MS Excel, and comfort learning new software; and ability to independently organize, prioritize, carry out detailed procedures with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines while managing multiple projects. Detailed oriented, very organized, and loves data organization. Positive attitude and willingness to try new things. Personal commitment to Girlstart’s mission and programs. Ability to remain calm and flexible under pressure. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to take initiative and be resourceful, motivated, well-organized, detail- and process-oriented, problem solve, and willing to learn and adapt. The ability to communicate and interact effectively with others required; as are proficient writing, editing, and proofreading skills. A bachelor’s degree and development experience and/or familiarity with nonprofit organizations or higher education institutions preferred.
