Position: Program Coordinator, Part-Time

Service Area: Austin & Greater Austin Area

Must be available to start on 8/13.

Must be available weekdays between 2pm and 6pm to lead Girl Connect at:
1. Pecan Springs Elementary School - Monday
2. Harris Elementary School – Tuesday & Thursday
3. Hart Elementary School - Wednesday
4. Others TBD

Must be available from 2pm – 6pm on:
Monday 8/27 – Andy Roddick Foundation Pre-Service Training at Lifeworks
Tuesday 8/28 – Hart Elementary Orientation
Wednesday 8/29 – Harris Elementary Orientation
Thursday 8/30 – Pecan Springs Elementary Orientation

Classification: Part-time, seasonal, up to 20 hours/week
August 13, 2018 – December 21; January 7 – May 31 ONLY

Compensation: $17/hour, cell phone stipend, mileage reimbursement

Reports to: Program Manager

Job Description:

Direct Service (60%)

• Assist in the implementation of GEN Girl Connect
• Facilitate Girl Connect a minimum of 4 days per week
• Maintain consistent communication with school site coordinator
• Assist with recruitment of participants on Girl Connect Campuses when necessary
• Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate workshops for your assigned campuses when necessary
• Conduct assessments and provide referrals to participants when appropriate
• Communicate with community, governmental, and school agencies around case management issues, when necessary
• Provide information, outreach and support to parents/guardians

Administrative (40%)
• Participate as GEN lead in relationship building with Andy Roddick Foundation and their 3 campuses
• Maintain and build relationships with school personnel and community partners
• Attend 2 professional development sessions per semester
• Assist in ongoing outreach and marketing efforts to increase GEN’s visibility at assigned campuses
• Oversee logistical details of groups such as recruiting participants, making reminders to participants, ordering supplies and administering program evaluations
• Attend bi-weekly staff meetings, weekly team meetings, and weekly supervision on Mondays
• Update attendance data on a monthly basis and submit monthly program report
• Assess effectiveness of curricula and offer ideas to update as appropriate
• Other duties as assigned


• Commitment to the mission, vision and values of Girls Empowerment Network
• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field
• At least 2 years experience facilitating groups (high-risk, girls’ groups preferred)
• At least 2 years experience working with high-risk youth from diverse backgrounds
• Must be available to run afterschool programs on most weekdays between 2pm and 6pm
• Commit to the position for the entire upcoming school year
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
• Ability to pass a required background check
• Goal-oriented, flexible, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Effective oral and written communication skills; bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Must have regular access to email and phone for daily communication
• Available to start on August 13, 2018 for Staff Retreat from 9am – 5pm
