The Mission of the Epilepsy Foundation of Central & South Texas (EFCST) is to lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives.

EFCST is seeking a Program Associate. This person will work closely with the Program Manager and Development Manager to ensure that all programs and fundraising events for the Austin area achieve their goals and measurements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote the organization within the Austin community and outlying areas by providing up to date information on epilepsy to area hospitals and physicians, support groups, and community organizations as well as through educational displays at health fairs and seminars.
Facilitate family and adult support groups on a monthly basis.
Provide information and referral to clients and the community.
Assist in the development of short and long term plans for programs, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
Assists in the development of fund raising activities.
Supervise and oversee staff/volunteers for special event.
Prepare correspondence, agendas and other materials related to event planning. Conduct research on speakers, design and send invitations to events and track attendance.
Prepare follow-up materials related to events including evaluations, online surveys, meeting notes, handouts, presentations, etc. and disseminate to participants.
Assist in the creation of presentations, reports and other products.
Contribute to the development and execution of EFCST's communication strategy.
Knowledge, Education and Experience:
Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
A Bachelor's degree is preferred, however, experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office Programs.
Experience with Sales Force a plus.
Strong oral and written communications skills. Needs to be able to communicate well both individually, in small groups, and in public settings.
Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Must be flexible with a sense of humor to deal with shifting priorities.
Must be a quick-learner and self-starter that can move at a fast pace.
Must be detail oriented with an exemplary commitment to high standards and deep commitment to work quality.
Ability to work as a member of a team.
Experience working with non-profits preferred.
Travel will be required upon occasion for special events or to implement education and outreach programs.
