The Austin Chapter of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network was initiated in 2003 by staff members of Greenlights for Nonprofit Success, a management support organization now known as Mission Capital. It found swift flight in January 2006 with a crew of fresh, passionate leaders. In 2011, YNPN Austin received 501(c)(3) status. We're excited to continue growing our resources for nonprofit professionals in the Austin area.
YNPN Austin offers regular monthly programming, which consists of professional development and membership events. Professional development events are designed to help nonprofit professionals grow within their careers and consist of our Speaker Series, Tacos & Tips and other specialty events. Membership events, which include Behind the Scenes and Network with Executives, compliment our professional development offerings and are designed to build community.
YNPN’s annual signature event, the Do Gooder Games, is a game night competition for nonprofit teams featuring trivia and physical challenges centered around all things nonprofit. The champion team wins bragging rights for a year and the honor of $1,000 in grand prize money donated to their favorite nonprofit.
Our main vehicle for communication with our members is the monthly Digest, an e-newsletter filled with nonprofit jobs, news, events, and resources in Austin. The list-serv currently serves more than 1,000 members.
